In this series of blog postings, we feature our alumni as they talk about their experience being in the program as well as their unforgettable moments as former XU DevCom students.

Why did you choose XU DevCom?
DevCom is the right choice for me. When I first entered college, lahi gyod akong first choice. Then na-realize nako, murag di jod ko bagay ato nga course. So I shifted to DevCom, didto dayon nako nabati ang tinood nga kalipay.
Tell us about your experience with the program.
In DevCom, didto nako na-experience ang mag immersion sa lugar nga walay kuryente og layo sa sibilisasyon. In fairness ha, wala ko’y choice ato pero mukaon lang og gulay for almost 3 days. Nakakaloka pero until now, I can still remember how meaningful that was. Also in DevCom, it helped me feed my interest and passion which is event hosting. Sa whole duration sa’kong stay sa program, daghan gyod kaayo og events nga pwede mapakita sa isa ka student iyang hilig. And lucky you are if you are a XU DevCom student.
Daghan kaayo events and activities sa XU DevCom that would help you build your confidence and hone your skills.
I remember, naa mi classmate nga grabe ka ulawon but because iyang mga kauban mga sabaan, nasabaan na pod intawon siya.
Lahi ra gyod sa DevCom kay it will help you bring the best in you. You have the freedom para ipagawas imong creative juices. And they give you the right and best platform.

Are you using what you learned in college with your work now?
Yes, nagamit gyod nako to nga mga experiences because right now I’m working as a local coordinator for Mindanao Pride Events through Spark Philippines. And also doing event hosting during my free time.
Would you recommend studying DevCom?
I would highly recommend this program. If you want to pursue careers in radio and tv industry, or want to write and capture stories for development, then XU DevCom is a better choice!
