In this series of blog postings, we feature our alumni as they talk about their experience being in the program as well as their unforgettable moments as former XU DevCom students.

Why did you choose DevCom?
When I was in high school, I enjoyed being in a community where I got to know people, and helped in my own little way. And, as a bonus, I liked to interact with people. My father, who is also a graduate of the XU College of Agriculture, introduced this course to me, believing that this is in line with what I want to do in my life, and that is to communicate development.

Tell us about your experience with the program.
Choosing DevCom was one of the best decisions I made! There were lots of activities which helped me analyze and understand just how communication works, it strengthened my ability to see and hear beyond words, to capture the reality, it deepened my understanding as to what our community is facing, and most importantly, to understand that meanings are in people, not in words.
Are you using what you learned in college?
Definitely! Because of DevCom, it inspired me further to communicate for development in a legal manner. That’s what keep keeps me going whenever I have a hard time in law…that someday, through guidance of our God, I can contribute towards achieving a just society.
Would you recommend studying DevCom?
A big yes! DevCom is a mixture of fun, educational, and interactive environment, which you will surely never forget!
