Aiming to foster the discipline in research among the students in the Xavier University College of Agriculture (XUCA), the fourth year Development Communication students co-sponsor, Ambit: An In-house and Research in Development Forum on 26-27 February 2019.
The first day of the 2-day event will cover faculty presentations (oral and poster), while the second day will be for the students’. As head organizer of the event, XUCA invited a panel of reactors from outside linkages who will look into the studies. They will be coming from different agencies, such as the Department of Agriculture and other local government units.
“The idea is to gather together each year to share outputs in research, in extensions and other social development activities,” said XUCA Dean, Engr. Charry Mosqueda. Since all the programs in the college have thesis course, the event is an avenue not just for faculty but for students as well to experience the discipline of research and to share their work, thus with the event’s name (ambit is a Bisaya term for “sharing”).
In his message during the KSSR Awarding ceremony, Fr. Roberto C. Yap, SJ, the university president, emphasized the importance of research in the student’s college life allowing them to understand matters more deeply, think critically, and acknowledge that there is more to learn.
