A total of 30 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) youth leaders of Misamis Oriental took part in a fun camp, dubbed as “The Avengers Kampayapaan“, on May 9 as part of XU DevCom’s advocacy campaign, Peacekwela.
The one-day peace-building camp aimed to promote peace-building and build bridges of friendship among the youth leaders of Misamis Oriental.

“As SK youth leaders you have the power to create change in your communities,” said Joshua Delos Reyes, campaign team leader.
Three sessions made up the Public Narrative. In the first session, Mr. Marvin Pamisa, introduced the Story of the Self. Ms. Rechelle Barraquias continues with the Story of Us in the second. Lastly, Mr. Evans Yonson brings everything together in the third session with the Story of Now.

At the end of the camp, they participated in the amazing race to test what they learned. They also shared their message for peace through designing their very own kites which was later on showcased during the Kite Festival for Peace. To conclude the camp, the campers signed a pledge of commitment to promoting peace within their communities through the power of legislation.
