#TheSMLProject team with Simon Wilner, Vice President of Facebook Asia Pacific

The #TheSMLProject along with the different sectors of the Philippines participated in Facebook Philippines’ ‘Digital Tayo’ campaign on April 23,2019 to address the issue of digital illiteracy in the Philippines.

FB Philippines forms partnerships with the media, government, NGOs and private sectors to access the necessary learning modules and resources to create digital literate citizens and to build skills for a digital world. These sectors are tasked to bring ‘Digital Tayo’ workshops to local communities to be able to shape the country’s digital community.

This proved advantageous to the team of #TheSMLProject, being the only Digital Youth ambassador that has an advocacy inclined to social media.  The campaign plans to take on ‘Digital Tayo’ into the academe, shifting their focus from Generation Z to Baby Boomers, who are the target of this workshop.
