Cagayan de Oro City – Xavier Ateneo DevCom Department and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of Misamis Oriental have forged partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement in March 2018.

Called The DTI-XU Linkage Program, the partnership aims to “strengthen partnership between DTI and the academe to uplift the communication program of the Negosyo Center”, while providing “a venue for XU DevCom students and faculty to be involved in community development program”.

As a kick-off activity, a Writing Workshop for incoming sophomore students of Xavier Ateneo DevCom was conducted at the function room of DTI-MisOr on May 22-23, 2019. Facilitated by the Philippine Information Agency’s (PIA) information officer, Ms Recthie Paculba, the writeshop culminates with the participants gathering stories from small-scale entrepreneurs supported by DTI-Mis.Or.

Xavier Ateneo DevCom Chairperson, Ms Rechelle Ann Barraquias said that the partnership, specifically the activity, “will greatly help the students in their Writing and Reporting for Development course (which the students are taking up this semester).”
