Why did you choose XU DevCom?

DevCom was my first choice the first time I saw the list of courses under Agriculture. Since I got two scholarships that time, I was torn between taking Science-related courses for a DOST Scholarship or DevCom for a scholarship under the St Francis Xavier. I chose my first love ❤. I thought at that time that my strength’s in communication and that made me decide.

Tell us about your experience with the program

Labs (laboratory meetings) were my favourite! Although theories were great foundational concepts but learning them first hand and creating things using ideas and creativity made the experience an awesome way to learn. Plus, the skills we learned really stood the test of time. It was relevant then, it’s still is now

What is your current job

I have been working as Training Specialist for DSWD for almost a decade now. From region X to the Central Office with the same position.

Are you using what you learned in college

Most definitely! As trainer, my skills were a plus! My understanding on Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, and Verbal Communication made me understand more the learning process in trainings. Since my major is Educational Communication, I was also able to create training materials and apply the basic principles of visual arts in my methodologies.

Would you recommend studying DevCom

Absolutely! DevCom is a gateway to understanding the society and how communication plays a significant role in nation-building. It’s not just communication, it’s communication that has a heart for development and we are the bearers of those hearts.
