The Development Communication Department of XU kicked off their DevCom Week Celebration with a refreshing reminder of what it really means to be a DevCom student with the “Kapehan with Alumni” last February 17 at the DevCom studio – a chance for the current students to learn from various achieving alumni. The department invited former DevCom students Brian Adam Anay, Thieza C. Verdijo, Melissa Abuga-a, Megan M. Concepcion, and Marcelino Cahig Jr who shared their milestones during and after pursuing DevCom.
“Until now, I still wonder why I took DevCom. Numerous answers were provided but none seems to matter to me. The Kapehan with Alumni, however, served newer perspectives which helped me realize that there’s more to DevCom,” shares Gerald Besto, a sophomore DevCom student, “In fact, you can be whoever you want to be as long as it’s good for everyone. “ He adds.
He further shares that the event helped them answer their “why’s” and “why not’s” as Development Communication student – making them prouder and strong. The Kapehan Activity ended with an open forum for DevCom students to ask questions as well as a meet and greet opportunity with their alumni.
