Joining the department in its celebration of the DevCom Week, over 400 senior high school students currently taking up Media and Information Literacy visited the DevCom lab as it held an Open House on February 17-21.

Rechelle Ann Barraquias, in her opening message, emphasized the relevance of the tour in the students’ MIL learning. “This is more than just checking our facilities here in DevCom; this tour aims to foster deeper understanding and appreciation of your MIL course as you get a sneak peek of the things that happen behind the camera – or behind the media product,” she said.

Different pools from the department each held a 15-minute workshop to introduce the students as to what the course is about.

“I really enjoyed the open house,” Karla, a senior high school participant shares, “I was amazed by the pictures taken by the ates–I might consider taking up DevCom in the future.”

This is the second year the department opened its doors to XU Senior High School students.
