CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Development Communication students secured 2nd place in the Infomercial Competition during the 7th Regional Health Research Conference, held from October 22-24 at Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan.

The representatives consist of 4th-year DevCom students Junquil Baoc, Kim Dael, and Allianah Occeña. The team created a compelling 2-minute infomercial video centered on the event’s theme, “Sustainable Health Solutions for a Greener Future: Bridging Health and Environmental Well-Being.”

This achievement continues XU DevCom’s strong track record in regional competitions. Last year, former DevCom seniors John Ian Bradshaw and Andre Doria won 1st place in the Infomercial Contest and 3rd place in the Blog Writing Contest at the 6th Regional Health Research Conference, held at Bukidnon State University from October 10-12, 2023.

Most recently, 3rd-year DevCom student Justine Loreto claimed the top spot in the Branding and Event Logo Design Contest on the 20th of August 2024, which set the visual identity for this year’s conference.

The Northern Mindanao Consortium for Health Research and Development (NorMinCoHRD), a research consortium under the Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS), organized the annual regional competition.
